OXYGEN GENERATING PLANT We are able to provide an unlimited supply of oxygen to all surgical & hospital cases.
DIGITAL XRAY IMAGING SYSTEM Foremost are the benefits for your family pet - LESS radiation exposure, LESS handling of your pet & MORE immediate results which may be emailed to a specialist as required for a second opinion & a CD copy for your reference. PLUS SPECIALISED DIGITAL DENTAL RADIOLOGY - identifies dental pathology before peridontal disease causes distress for your family pet!
IM3 VETERINARY DENTAL UNIT As most canine & feline teeth are multirooted, any extractions for all but the very loose require the tooth to be sectioned with a high speed cutting bar in a hand piece driven by compressed air. Another bur is used to remove bone surrounding the roots to allow for a seamless extraction. Sutures are often placed in the gums to close the remaining defect. Ultrasonic scaling and then tooth polishing with single use prophy cups completes the service.
DOPPLER BLOOD PRESSURE UNIT Cats especially suffer from high blood pressure with diseases such as chronic kidney failure and hyperthyroidism. Unless corrected, nasty sequelae such as blindness and seizures may occur.
SECOND GASEOUS ANAESTHESIA MACHINE At EHVH both vets may operate simultaneously with the acquisition of a second anaesthesia machine. Most general anaesthesia of any duration involves the patient inhaling a mixture of a gas anaesthetic (isoflurane) and oxygen. The depth of anaesthesia is controlled by the vaporizer component of the machine and the mix is delivered via tubing to the intubated patient. All surgeries are monitored by the attending vet surgeon & a trained surgical nurse.
