The implant is about the size of a grain of rice, and is inserted under the skin without sedation or local anaesthesia (similar to inserting a microchip). Some owners may want to "test drive" the effects of surgical desexing on their male or female dog by using the implant first. We have found most cases of female dog incontinence to be treated well and without side-effects with this method. |
