Surgery
EHVH utilizes technology and equipment which enables the diagnosis
and treatment (both medically and surgically) of most conditions
seen in a small animal practice.
All surgery is performed on a thermostatically heated operating
table – warmth is vital during surgery!!
With patients ranging in size from a 30 gram mouse to a 100kg
Mastiff, we are capable of handling the routine to the "not so
routine". Fracture repairs are common place with extensive
instrumentation including bone-plating equipment. We routinely
perform surgery for the repair of ruptured anterior cruciate
ligament knees and also meniscal damage (torn cartilage) resulting
from this common disease. Plus surgery repair of patella luxation or
slipping kneecaps in small dogs. Our electrocautery unit enables
"scalpel-less" surgery in selected cases with minimal bleeding. |
