Our Team

To ensure Erina Heights Vet Hospital provides the highest level of professional care for your family pet, continuing veterinary education is essential for both our vets and nursing staff. Our vets regularly attend annual postgraduate veterinary conferences within Australia and overseas. And our highly trained and experienced nursing staff attend a variety of courses. EHVH currently has 11 nurses with Certificate IV accreditation in nursing and surgical procedures.

Central Coast Vets
  • Michael Jones - BVSc. Hons (Syd)
    38 years in this practice with extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery. He is the longest serving fulltime veterinarian on the Central Coast. Interests include orthopaedic repairs, dentistry, reproductive and breeding medicine, and skin diseases. Post graduate certification in radiology (including PennHip registration) and regular attendance at post graduate continuing education courses in orthopaedics, echocardiography, reproduction etc ensures the latest advances in treatments and surgical techniques are applied to your family pet. Michael attends orthopaedic conferences in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide  & Wagga regularly, studying specific conditions of cruciates, canine hips & pelvis. An opthalmic surgery workshop at the Gatton Campus of QLD University over two days with three of Australia's top specialist opthalmologists was very rewarding. In 2016, Michael attends the AVA conference in Adelaide, and surgical workshop for Ossability TTA for canine cruciate ligament disease. Away from work Michael's main passion is scuba diving (both he & his son are rescue divers) followed by a close second is the leisurely intensity of gardening.

  • Melissa Kozaruk - BVSc. Hons (Syd)
    Melissa is our hospital director and lead veterinarian at EHVH. Melissa graduated with first class honours from Sydney University in 2012, and has been a part of the EHVH team ever since.
    Her interests include clinical leadership and staff development, emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery and canine reproduction. Melissa is part way through a Masters Degree in Veterinary Medicine (Massey University, New Zealand), having undertaken further post graduate training in soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine and endocrinology. Melissa currently owns three Australian Shepherds, ‘Evie’, ‘Lily’ and ‘Sirius’, and a rescue cat, ‘Minerva’. Melissa competes in many dog sports with her Australian Shepherds, including showing, obedience and agility. Melissa and ‘Evie’ are also an accredited DELTA therapy dog team.

  • Jesse Hughes - BVSc. Hons (Syd)
    Jesse graduated with honours from Sydney University in 2007. Originally from Tasmania, he moved to the Central Coast following graduation and now wouldn't live anywhere else.
    His special interests include ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology and reptile medicine and surgery. He has completed further education in ultrasound, including a Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Abdominal Ultrasound from Melbourne University. Outside of work Jesse loves to spend time with his family, as well as their dogs ‘Pearl’ and ‘Augie’ and their cats ‘Maurice’ and ‘Esme’.
    He is also an avid football fan, and loves going to the Mariners games on the weekend.

    Audrey Sokolowski - BVSc. Hons (Syd)
    Audrey graduate from Sydney University with first class honours in 2012.
    After a five year stint in Dubbo she decided it was time to move back to the Central Coast, where she grew up. Audrey has a keen passion for behavioural medicine and is currently enrolled in a Behavioural Medicine course via distance education. She has undertaken further post graduate education by completing a Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care through Melbourne University 2017. She also has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and physiotherapy.
    Outside work Audrey enjoys photography, travel, renovating her house and spending time with her tribe of pets – ‘Corona’ the Schmoodle, ‘Henley’ the Cavalier, ‘Rouge’ the DSH cat and ‘Bruiser’ the severely anxious rescue Fox Terrier who spiked her interest in behaviour medicine.

    Holly Boyden - BVSc. Merit (Syd) MANZCVS (ECC)
    Holly graduated from Sydney University with BVSc (Merit) in 2008. Prior to joining the team at EHVH she has worked in the UK and at North Shore Veterinary Hospital and Specialist Centre, where as a GP she worked alongside specialists from multiple disciplines. In 2017, Holly obtained the postgraduate qualification of ANZCVS Membership in Emergency and Critical Care, which she feels has made her a better-rounded GP vet.
    Holly started maternity leave in 2018 for the birth of her first child (a gorgeous baby girl), but looks forward to returning to the team in early 2019, and is sure her new Mum-muscles will only have improved her dog-lifting and carrying capabilities. Holly's favourite type of consult involves puppies or kittens, but any cuddly pet will be thoroughly fussed.

    Cameron Keller – MVB (Dublin)
    Cameron graduated from University College Dublin, Ireland in 2016.
    Originally from Chicago, Cameron spent his first couple years practicing in Northern NSW but joined the team and relocated in 2018 to enjoy a change of scenery on the Central Coast.
    Cameron is particularly interested in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.

    Outside of work, Cameron enjoys travelling, hiking, and spending time with his recently adopted stray cat, ‘Haku’.

    Jade Bridge - Cert IV Veterinary Nurse – Practice Manager
    Jade started her journey here with us in 2009 as a TAFE student studying Certificate II in Animal Studies.
    She then went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Kurri Kurri TAFE with flying colours in 2011 and joined the EHVH team full-time.
    Jade has now stepped into the role of Practice Manager where she continues to work with the team to provide our patients with gold standard care.

    In her spare time Jade enjoys spending time with her fiancé and son, Cohen, as well as her little family of animals – ‘Rocky’ a DSH Cat, ‘Shelby’ a Murray River Short Neck Turtle and ‘Monty’ a Stimson’s Python.

    Jacqui Collins - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Jacqui is the longest standing staff member and has been with our team at EHVH since 2007.
    She completed Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2008. She has taken on the role of Head Nurse where she provides support and guidance to all the staff, whom she loves working with, and considers to be part of her family.
    Jacqui loves all aspects of veterinary nursing but has a bias towards surgical nursing and managing hospital patients.
    In her free time she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her fiancé and young son, Jayden. She shares her house with a very cute, scruffy dog, ‘Brutus’, a Pug x Cavalier.

    Leah Noble - Cert IV Veterinary Nurse
    Leah joined our team in 2012 with 3 years experience in veterinary nursing and also training in pet grooming.

    She will be more than likely, the first 'smiley' face you see as you're welcomed in reception at EHVH.
    Leah loves all aspects of veterinary nursing with a particular interest in animal behaviour, nursing and monitoring of our hospital patients and surgical assistance.
    In her time off Leah enjoys spending time with her husband and son, gardening, bushwalking and heading to the beach.
    She is also mum to a super cool DSH cat ‘Steven’, a scruffy terrier cross ‘Maggie’ and their flock of free range chickens.

    Kelsie White - Cert IV Veterinary Nurse
    Kelsie joined the EHVH team in 2015 and has been a qualified veterinary nurse for 10 years.

    Currently Kelsie is studying to become a qualified TAFE teacher for veterinary nursing; she also manages the tafe students who come to do their placement at our hospital.
    Kelsie has always loved animals and is keen on animal rescue, having 3 rescue cats ‘Ebony’, ‘Splash’ and ‘Mdog’ and a Labrador Rum, her home is becoming quite full.

    Kelsie’s main interests at the hospital are client relationships and communication, training new staff and students and surgical procedures.

    Kali Gordon - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Kali joined our team in 2015 and is a qualified veterinary nurse who has an extra special interest in surgical procedures.
    She has always been a complete animal lover, growing up with birds, pocket pets, cats and dogs.
    Kali went on maternity leave in 2018 to give birth to gorgeous twin boys, Jaxson and Lucas, but she has since returned to us on a permanent part time basis.
    Along with her baby boys, Kali is also mum to fur babies, ‘Axle’ the Rottweiler and ‘Orphie’ the Australian Mist.

    Outside of work she enjoys camping, swimming, yoga and spending time with friends and family.

    Shannon Jolliff - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Shannon joined our team early in 2015, whilst completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Gosford TAFE.
    Shannon has a particular interest in behavioural training and is keen to shape our youngest family pets in our weekly Puppy Preschool classes, encouraging the establishment of healthy behaviour patterns early on.
    Shannon has been a part of the Central Coast community her whole life and has grown up with a multitude of pets.

    Currently, ‘Amber’ is her fellow feathered companion and through foster caring for homeless pets, ‘Meko’ the cat is her newest member.

    Stacey Boland - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Stacey completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in Melbourne in 2004 and has had the privilege of working with some amazing specialist Vets and Nurses in the UK, Melbourne and Sydney.
    She moved to the Central Coast in 2016 with her Family; ‘Paddy’ a lazy Ridgeback X, Liam and Emer (her two legged children) and her Husband.
    She has a keen interest in orthopaedic surgeries and brings over 10 years of experience to the EHVH team.

    She loves the beach, mountain bike riding and has a little trouble sitting still!

    Cody Gilmore – Cert IV Veterinary Nurse
    Cody joined our team here in 2016 after moving down from Queensland and bringing with her a large array of skills from various jobs in the animal care industry including managing a local pound and re-homing dogs via the RSPCA, caring for baby crocodiles, and in animal boarding facilities.
    She has been nursing for 6 years and is always keen to expand her knowledge in the field.
    Cody has a particular interest in emergency medicine and radiology and puts her emergency nursing skills to practice at a local emergency after hour’s clinic when not working at EHVH.
    She is the mother to an extremely lucky and spoilt rescue dog, ‘Doug’.

    Amanda Perry - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Amanda moved to the Central Coast and joined the EHVH team in 2018 with a wealth of knowledge after working in a small animal practice in the Hunter Valley for 11 years.

    She gained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Kurri Kurri TAFE in 2007 and has recently picked up pen and paper again by studying to gain her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care whilst also putting those skills to the test by working at a local emergency after hour’s clinic.

    Amanda is a huge cat person and loving mother to ‘Pudda’ the Burmese.

    Laura Lechowski - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Laura is our newest veterinary nurse, joining the team in August 2018.
    She spent two years here at EHVH as a TAFE student on work placement then went on to study Phlebotomy whilst also completing her certificate II in Animal Care and Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing in May 2018.
    Prior to this she served in the armed forces for several years whilst doing volunteer work at the local pound in her free time.
    Laura has always had a keen interest in the veterinary industry. She is passionate about making animals feel safe and loved, and strives to assist in giving you and your pet the best care and overall experience at EHVH. Laura is a proud owner of two amazing and mischievous dogs - ‘Madam’ the Labrador and ‘Rosie’ the Mini Foxie x.

    Caroline Engel - Cert lV Veterinary Nurse
    Caroline arrived in Australia in 2008 from France to pursue a career in engineering.
    A few years later she decided to study veterinary nursing to follow her lifelong passion of working with animals. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in November 2015 and joined the Erina Heights team in 2016.

    Caroline is currently on maternity leave, where she is juggling the demands of caring for a beautiful baby girl while chasing after her son, a playful toddler. At home, she belongs to ‘Kiya’ the tuxedo cat and ‘Rio’ the sun conure.
